Edward A. Greer Education Center

Mid-century modern buildings

In a city that often overlooks its history in favor of the next big thing it’s rare to find a mid-century modern building that still functions as it was originally intended to. Such is the case with the Edward A. Greer Education Center on East Flamingo Rd; still operating as an office building for the Clark County School District.

Built in 1965 and designed by local modernist architects Walter Zick and Harris Sharp (Zick & Sharp), the Education Center building boasts decorative block and stone screens, graceful pillars, clerestory windows, a beautiful folded plate roof, and is affectionately referred to by locals as the “Ed Shed.”

Check out the building’s east parking lot side too, it’s got some really nice detailing.
