Las Vegas in the 1960s wouldn’t have been the same without Frank Sinatra and his legendary Summit performances with the Rat Pack. Today, imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, and all, there are a few options to relive those retro days…
♣ The Rat Pack is Back have been entertaining Las Vegas audiences since 1998 and features a line up that includes Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin and the Chairman of the Board himself, or at least outstanding facsimiles thereof. It’s a fun show and currently on view at the Tuscany Suites & Casino at 255 East Flamingo Road.
♠ You can still catch many a lounge singer crooning Sinatra’s mid-century standards so if you get a chance to see Bob Anderson’s tribute, Frank The Man, The Music you’ll be doing yourself a favor. Billed as the most revered singing impressionist in the world, Anderson is like “seeing Sinatra at his best,” according to none other than Tony Bennett!
♥ Steve Wynn’s Encore Hotel & Casino features a gourmet restaurant called Sinatra, which boasts a contemporary twist on classic Italian fare by Chef Theo Schoenegger. This elegant space also showcases some high-end Sinatra memorabilia including candid photos, gold records and Frank’s very own Grammy, Emmy and Oscar statuettes.
