Brutalist buildings
Located at the University of British Columbia, the Museum of Anthropology is world renowned for its collection of Northwest Coast First Nations art and artifacts and is definitely worth checking out.
Architecturally speaking, however, it’s all about the award-winning building that houses said artifacts, and for that reason this 1975 Arthur Erickson designed glass & concrete brutalist monument – which takes post & beam architecture to the extreme – is a must see!
In 2011, the Museum of Anthropology  received national landmark status from the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
